Aida Alonso Iglesias, more known as Aid, electronic student at Vigo University, radio and tv announcer, and hip hop artist.
Aíd was born in 1990 in Vigo, Spain. She is 20 years old and she lives in the suburbs of Vigo city. Her contact with hip hop culture comes when she is 12 through the graffiti. Because of this, she begins to listen some rap cds. Her liking for writting and for the expression causes that she begins to create and write her first tracks about the 2003 year.
In 2004, when she was 14, a friend upload four of her tracks in a popular webpage, releasing her first work Demo 2004. She achieved that people listen to her tracks, due to the strange fact of listen a so young girl rapping. This helped her to mature like artist and like person. She was making features in another works, tracks for compilations and shows arround her city.
At the end of 2005 was formed the 8990 crew. She was joined to it like a mc.
Aquí Tenéis is her second work released at beggining of 2007. Is a autoedited work that has 7 tracks with the support of some spanish beatmakers.
Since sumer of 2007 she is radio speaker and scriptwritter in Moito de Aquí radio show at Radio Piratona (106.0 FM Vigo). This show is dedicated to divulgate local bands of black music styles.
In this year was formed Licor Kafé, a musical project in which she was until 2008. On May 24th 2008 released Licor Kafé Vol. 1.
On October 22th 2008 is proclaimed winner of Heineken Greenspace festival in Valencia (Spain), among more of 1300 bands, acting with Lagartija Nick and Enrique Morente and she was the first rap singer winner and the youngest one.
On February 9th 2009 releases Jugando, her first debut album, autoedited. Two of the sixteen tracks of cd are interpreted in galician lenguage and the other fourteen in spanish.
On July 28th 2009 her single Boogie Vigo is proclaimed Latin Single of the Week in the musical web iTunes.
On September 2009 is Artist of the Month by Ones to Watch of Myspace.
Since August 2009 she organizes and participated with the Creando Hip Hop iniciative, a project that imparts workshops around Galicia.
On June 11th 2009 is proclaimed winner of Márcate un Squares of Kellogs.
In this last year Aid achieves hard impact in the spanish media because of her clear style that opposes delincuency and rap stereotypes. A style that bets for a rap with social values.
